SMaRT FUN Philosophy:
Here at SMaRT Fun Learning Adventures we want children to receive the most beneficial opportunities while attending their session.
WE BELIEVE:
in a balance of the child-centered and open-framework approach where both teacher and child initiate activities and a child’s interest leads our discussions, play time, and center activities.
the ability for children to learn through the exploration of hands-on materials and meaningful experiences.
that children learn best through actively participating, manipulating materials, and exploring areas of interest. We want to provide opportunities for the three types of learners: visual learner, auditory learner, and kinesthetic learner. We will offer activities and create moments that enhance all the learning styles.
that children learn through play. Free play time is integrated into our program to provide children with the opportunity to explore at their own pace following their own interests. Each child will be able to focus on the interest area most comfortable for them, and therefore, will achieve the most beneficial learning condition from the manipulatives in their environment. Free choice time also provides children with an opportunity for social interaction, deeply engaged imaginative play, and cooperative play.
Here at SMaRT Fun Learning Adventures the schedule and activities are planned and chosen based on developmental appropriateness, interests of the children, and relevancy to their experiences in the world. This will provide children with topics meaningful to their understanding capabilities while promoting cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
