In the classroom children work at a comfortable pace and master basic skills at their own level of ability to develop a love of learning. We are committed to the total education of the child: intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually. Confident children are eager to learn and exercise new skills. The children are helped to complete activities. Each corner of the room provides elements for learning. Subject areas include art, music, cookery, reading, writing, math and science. We offer imaginative play opportunities for children in the block, building and dramatic play areas. SMaRT Fun follows a teaching method that neither imposes on a child nor abandons him or her in total free play. Rather we provide a carefully planned and structured environment in which the child can grow and learn in a natural way with the best possible opportunities for reaching his or her maximum potential. At SMaRT Fun children have the freedom to move around the classroom working with equipment, talking to other children, or asking the teacher to introduce materials. Children have a deep love and need for purposeful work. When they are "playing" they are indeed "working" to learn all about the world around them.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B><U>OVERVIEW:</U></B></div> <div> <I><B>Mission to Children:</B></I><B> </B><B>To teach children to have a love for learning and exploring by giving them an opportunity to find their strengths through provision of a developmentally appropriate learning experience.</B></div> <div> <I><B>Mission to the Parents:</B></I><B> </B><B>We want to provide the parent with a loving and dedicated place to provide their child with the best educational experience, nurturing, and socialization that a child can gain from being with other children in a learning environment.</B> </div> <div> <I><B>Vision:</B></I><B> </B><B>Our vision is to see the community grow by seeing our children grow. We want to see children grow with a love for learning while achieving a quality education. We want our program to provide children with preparation for kindergarten and life skills.</B></div> <div> <I><B>Activities:</B></I><B> </B><B>We will cover creative and developmental areas such as art, dramatic play, building, reading, and fine and gross motor skills. We will also cover areas with hands-on experiences, use educational games, and work on projects in math, science, and writing.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B><U>Academic Centers:</U></B></div> <div> <I><B>WHAT:</B></I><B> </B><B>At SMaRT Fun our academic centers are areas in which we educators lay out various materials, manipulatives, and supplies that support the specific academic subject. The materials are determined based on a child’s interest and developmental appropriateness. The children, as learners, will choose which items to explore and how long to investigate them, as well as be encouraged by educators to engage in learning activities.</B></div> <div> <I><B>HOW:</B></I><B> </B><B>Here at SMaRT Fun our centers are designated by child-sized tables, chairs, shelves, and floor space. Each area has enough space to explore and play. These spaces are strategically arranged to give students the least restrictive environment. This will provide children with an opportunity to learn through exploration in a comfortable environment. </B></div> <div> <I><B>WHICH:</B></I><B> In our SMaRT Fun environment, we include several areas of importance that appropriately help support development in children.</B></div> </td> </tr></table></body>
